V\Ill\Bro. Peter Waring 33° OER
5th April 1927 – 27th March 2019
A Past Inspector General for Warwickshire, Peter sadly passed away on 27th March and we bade a fond farewell to him during a well-attended service at Redditch Crematorium on Monday 15th April. His brother Roger, a clergyman, participated in the service and delivered a moving tribute.
Peter was a kind and thoughtful man who was loved and respected by all who met him.
As a mason in the Craft he was appointed ProvSGW 1993, PAGDC in 1996 and then PJGD in 2006 before receiving a 50 year certificate in 2018.
In Royal Arch Peter was the ProvGDC in 1994 and was appointed PAGSoj in 2006.
In 1998 Peter was appointed Rose Croix Inspector General for the District of Warwickshire after having served as Grand Director of Ceremonies at Supreme Council, and having preceded Very Puissant Lieutenant Grand Commander Guy Elgood 33° in that role and who attended the funeral. He travelled widely as GDC in support of Supreme Council members.
Due to his wife’s failing health Peter stepped down as our Inspector General in 2006, at which time he became only the second person to receive the Order of the Eagle and Rose from Supreme Council. His wife, Patricia, to whom he was devoted, sadly died in December 2018. Peter leaves 2 daughters, Jane and Caroline.
